Song Categories

Explanation

In a fully-developed version of Cardinal Music, each individual block within the main category table would lead to a page containing sub-categories. Within the sub-category pages, the users will once again be able further specify the type of song they are searching for by clicking on the appropriate sub-division links. These sub-division links would be generated by the standard tagging system the usage of which will only be available to artists for their own music. At the same time, however, the user will be able to turn on browsing using links generated by custom tags, the usage of which will be available to all users, within the sub-category pages.

Users will also have the option of tag browsing either using regular links or via using a tag cloud.

Issues

The issues that affect this model of browsing by category is of course the fact that not all users would agree to the classifications made by others. Thus, I hope that the custom user tagging system will allow everyone to express their own opinions regarding the classification per song. At the same time, a user will have the option of turning off browsing using the custom tagging system so as to prevent being overwhelmed by the tagging of other users.
